I began my journey in the tourism and hospitality industry in 1996 as a young German-speaking tour guide in Bhutan. I was always curious about how my guests felt during their trips to Bhutan, so I made it a point to ask for their feedback to improve their experience. Time and time again, I heard how much they enjoyed visiting Bhutan. However, these compliments were often followed by murmurs such as, “I couldn’t sleep well,” “the dog wouldn’t stop barking,” “the bed was not comfortable,” “the heating and cooling system in the room was inadequate,” and a long list of similar concerns about the hotels.

Many of my guests would suggest that if I ever built anything in Bhutan, it should be a hotel. Inspired by this idea, I never stopped dreaming of building a hotel where I could address all the constructive feedback from our guests. Today, after 27 years, the dream of addressing these concerns has finally become a reality.
